MIF – Musique Indépendante Francophone
MIF ® (Musique Indépendante Francophone – Independent Francophone Music) production is a fresh introduction to independent francophone music. Each month, a new MIF playlist presents a selection of music from independent artists, bands and labels from France, as well as francophone releases from other countries.
The music supervision is done by Costas Andreou, exploring with each playlist various genres of music. The playlists are organized so that the listeners can further explore the releases that interest them. Each track of the playlist has a link to the release, as it is available on the Bandcamp platform, to purchase the music track or the album it is featured in.

Exploring music releases
The production is based on music supervision and researching music released by independent francophone artists, bands and music labels. It also features productions and releases with francophone participants, musicians and producers.
It focuses on current independent production, reaching back to a few years from today. This way, the most recent works are presented. It doesn’t include releases by major labels/publishing companies, since those have the ability to promote their publications in a much larger scale than independent musicians. Weight and priority is given to the discography published by artists, either themselves, or through a partnership with a small record label, agency or disrtibutor.
Direct contact between musicians and listeners
All the releases are picked through Bandcamp, used by independent musicians around the world to publish their records. This platform plays an important role to the development of independent music production, for many years now. This is because it creates the right conditions for a healthy professional activity, where a musician can be paid for every record released and offered to the public.
The platform has a very good relationship with musicians and supports them with useful tools and direct payments, without any other intervention. It also has excellent relations with the audience, the music lovers, since it offers them the discography with various payment options, tranparency and a variety of audio files.
It is a healthy and succesful medium with a global charanter, supporting musicians through the sales of their records to the public. At the same time, because of how the platofm operates, active cells and communities of listeners are formed, showing their interest in various music genres.
